Green Nephrology
Not only is the Nephro am Wald practice located close to nature - we plant a tree for every dialysis treatment carried out in Bülach to offset our emissions. Our commitment to green nephrology is part of our desire to accept responsibility for both humankind and the environment.
Our contribution to environmental protection:
- Reducing and offsetting emissions
- Utilising renewable energies (e.g. photovoltaics)
- Separating/recycling and reducing waste
- Using resources sustainably
- Adopting environmentally-friendly practices every day

What is green nephrology?
Green nephrology is a holistic concept that sets high socio-ecological standards: we want to provide people suffering from kidney disease with high-quality treatment while also taking responsibility for the environment. We do this through measures such as reducing and offsetting emissions, separating and recycling waste, and switching to renewable energies.
We work with a socio-entrepreneurial company, Miti Mitsva, to offset our emissions through reforestation. Miti Mitsva grew out of a partnership with the Swiss non-profit organisation StartupAfrica and donates half of its profits to humanitarian projects in Zimbabwe.
