What is Dialysis?
When a kidney fails, the blood can be filtered using dialysis (an artificial kidney). This is a safe but time-consuming procedure. A single dialysis session lasts several hours and is usually performed as a temporary measure prior to a kidney transplant. At Nephro am Wald, we use haemodialysis (HD), haemofiltration (HF), haemodiafiltration (a combination of HD and HF) and peritoneal dialysis (PD; abdominal dialysis), as well as other blood purification procedures such as lipid or protein apheresis. We are ideally equipped to ensure that you feel comfortable during your treatment.
